Join us for Lupercalia MMIX, February 13 to 15, 2009, the TENTH annual celebration of the Ancient Roman festival. This year's will be bigger and better as we expand the weekend-long fetish and fantasy event in a new venue.

EOS Award of Honour Recipients

One of the things that the Edmonton O Society as a group believe in is
recognizing and honouring those who have gone above and beyond the call of
duty to contribute specifically to our group, but also, beyond that, to the
larger community as well. This award is a way for our society to identify
and thank those people for their hard work, which often would go
unrecognized.

Therefore, each year, a committee is put together to consider nominees for
the EOS Award of Honour. This committee then asks for nominations from the
general membership as to who they feel is worthy of consideration for the
award. For those new to EOS, the selection criteria is: an active
commitment to the EOS and to promoting the BDSM lifestyle, demonstrating
integrity, openness to all lifestyle choices, leading by example, and
contributing to the long term development of the EOS.

------------------------------------------
This past year, the board of EOS voted to include a lifetime EOS membership
as part of the EOS Award of Honour. As well, the board voted to make this
retroactive and include previous winners. We would like to ask those past
winners that are here today to come forward and receive their lifetime
membership cards. They are:

Sir Henrik
Lady Susan
Sir Gary

Miss Nancy-Jo 2006

This year we received quite a number of nominees, which I think says great
things about our group, and the many individuals who contribute to our
ongoing growth & success. As the committee discussed the nominees, it struck
us that there were several people who were indeed deserving, but one name in
particular stood out to us as most deserving of this award.

This person has long been known to many of the members for going above and
beyond the call of duty to the benefit of EOS. The energy and enthusiasm
they show are contagious and a gift to the group. They always have a
friendly word for everyone and are a wonderful example of how a person
should conduct themselves in the community. This person is always the first
to step up to the plate when something is needed.

The contributions to EOS and the larger community are numerous and we'd like
to tell you about some of them

- Served on the Lupercalia board for numerous years
- Served on the EOS executive for numerous years, both as a director at
large and as Activities Director
- Was the driving force behind the 2004 protocol dinner
- Has made the annual X-mas party the fun event it is today
- Has taken the reigns of our annual horse races day and made it a winner
- Assisted in the plans for making for many kink nights for Boots
- Has assisted in many Northern Chaps events, most recently as “Tally Ho”
for the Mr. Edmonton Leather contest

And through it all, has searched out people to volunteer to help out with
all of these events to ensure their continued success… not to mention
being like the mail…. always there, doing what needed to be done, despite
whatever challenges life came up with.

By now, most of the members of EOS, as well as others in the community, know
who we’re talking about, so without further ado, we'd like to present this
year's EOS Award of Honour to Miss Nancy-Jo. Please join us in
congratulating her.

Lady Snook 2005

Lady Snook is the recipient of the 2004 EOS Award.  She wandered into our
community in the spring of 1998 and was drafted into serving on the
executive in Nov 1998 as the Activities Director and held this position for
two years.  Lady Snook was always in the background at different events in
the community.  She took on the responsibility of opening and closing the
venue for EOS monthly meetings and filled in where ever needed at the
Lupercalia events.  Lady Snook held the position of Treasurer for the 2003
and 2004 terms and has organized and run the EOS Library.

Sir Gary 2004 and Sir Zen 2004

The EOS Award Committee was given a very difficult task this year to choose
the one person most worthy of receiving the award.  This past year has had
many people worthy to be chosen as the recipient.  When we look closely at
the achievements of the candidates two people stand out but the remarkable
thing is that their contribution to EOS and the Community as a whole cannot
be separated.  The leadership, vision and growth that they have brought to
EOS they have done as a team not as individuals.

It is my great honour to present the EOS Award to Sir Zen and to Sir Gary.

Lady Susan 2003

The EOS Executive announced the 2002 Award of Honour at Lupercalia. Lady Susan was the deserved recipient. She was acknowledged for her many years of contributing to the BDSM communities in Calgary and Edmonton. In addition to serving four years on the EOS Executive, Lady Susan was the co-leader of Alberta Bound, co-founder of NLA-Edmonton (and board member), a presenter at a number of workshops, and volunteer par excellence for the community. Congrats Lady Susan!

Sir Henrik 2001
