The BDSM Resource Centre
The BDSM Resource Centre is a well crafted site. Aimed at the newcomer to the lifestyle, this resource is a veritable primer for BDSM. Although much of the material found here is not new, it is laid out in an easily digestible fashion, categorized by theme and following a logical progression. You will not find bizarre juxtapositioning of faq's about beginning domination and submission and articles concerning cutting or suspension. I was disappointed, however, in the Dungeon Chat and Discussion Board. Here you can access the logs from scheduled chats. Although the topics sound very interesting and the moderator does her level best to keep discussion on topic, unfortunately, many of the participants have little to contribute beyond tossing their silky locks, soft giggles and/or shy smiles. My advice to the newcomer is to start reading in order and skip the chats. You won't go wrong.

Wizdomme Info Pack
Dear Ms. Bad Manners,
My Master is wonderfully cruel and inventive and I have truly enjoyed our sessions together, but lately, I have  noticed that He is becoming more and more select in the kinds of activities He wants us to indulge in. Worse, they are some of the activities that I specifically said I was not interested in while we were negotiating. When I ever so gently tried to remonstrate, I was told that He was pushing my limits and that was what a good Master does. I don't know what to do anymore. I am pretty new to this lifestyle and  I really do not want to continue participating in things I find distasteful. Should I ask for release? Can I ask for release? Am I being a lousy sub? Is He being a lousy Dom. -In a quandary

Dear quandary:
Go directly to Wizdomme  where you will find answers to your questions and a whole lot more! This collection of articles and pages is a veritable treasure trove of information for the newcomer to D/s. Among the noteworthy selections is A Submissive's Rights. Check it out.

Control Tower
Control Tower is a series of columns written by a Seattle based Domme and showcased in an online ezine "The Stranger."

Caustic but amusing, Mistress Matisse addresses issues as diverse as shopping for a "real" dominatrix halloween costume to polyamorous players. (she is one) :) Her articles are short, to the point and topical.

BDSM: The Online Home for Lifestylers
There are a number of good articles in this issue but unfortunately, the site is so poorly planned, that it is impossible to intuitively navigate it. You'll find yourself going in circles trying to visualize what is offered and where to find it. If you persevere, you may find such pieces as  Thoughts on Dominance and Thoughts on Submission which are well written and thought provoking, attributes that are too often lacking in sites of this genre. Be warned however, there are numerous examples of what I call "sub-par gush"  as in:
The lovers bathed in each others juices.
Swam in each others lust.
She slipped in his arms; he dove between her bust.

Sanguinalia
Bored by bondage? Fed up with flogging? Sick of spanking?
Do you long for more intense sensation? To push the limits? Yours or your partner's? Not for the faint of heart, nor for  those who prefer instant gratification, this site delves into cutting, scarification, bloodsports and other activities of that ilk. Pragmatic "how to" guides, mystic musings about menstruation and some personal accounts of scarring/cutting/piercing scenes. Not a flashy page, more informative than entertaining.

Clean Sheets
This is an online erotic literary site: poetry, fiction, articles and essays, as well as galleries of erotic visual art. The work here is very good and frequently updated. They accept submissions, but read the instructions carefully before doing so. They actual pay for the work they accept or so they say. I sent some stuff in and they never responded. Not even an acknowledgement of receiving my stuff. Still they have some good stuff there.

Endless Knot
Nicely laid out site with tons of info.A good article about wax play which includes practical suggestions and a sort of how-to preparation guideline. A disturbing article about torture (medieval mayhem) with links to pictures of the implements reviewed. (Disturbing because this kind of sadism was definitely NOT SS&C.) -linda
