This workshop is for those beginning their adventures in rope bondage and rope play, as well as for those who are overdue for a refresher in their rope skills.
Our Presenter
EOS member Laban will bring his skills and experience to us. He has attended Shibaricon and Ropecraft. He describes himself as being an intermediate level rigger. He has done high angle rope rescue courses, swift water rope rescue courses and also a fair bit of rope related to bushcraft.
Bring some of your favourite rope to practice your knotty skills (limited supplies will be on hand for those who do not yet have hundreds of feet of rope in their toy bags).
Here are some of the things that will be presented:
- Rope and Rope Safety
- Types of rope (big, small, strong, weak)
- Issues with rope, physics of rope
- Rope safety
- Rope philosophy in a scene
- Pain and rope
- Knots for common use
- Basic ties
A good portion of the workshop will be spent practising the knots and ties. If you are new to rope, this is a great introduction; if you are experienced with rope, bring your knowledge and experience to add to the presentation and to share your skills with those who would want to experience the thrill of rope.
This workshop is open to EOS Members and their guests, but if you are interested to attend and are not yet connected to EOS, please email President@edmontonosociety.org and arrangements will be made for you to join us.
